FAIRFIELD, CT — There's no shortage of interesting people in Fairfield. This week, get to know Walter Schneider, a retired carpenter, who was nominated by his neighbor and friend, Kerry Jean Douglas.

WHY SHOULD EVERYONE KNOW THIS NEIGHBOR?

Walt is simply the most considerate neighbor. He is 81 and always looking out for all of his neighbors. I’ve found him fixing leaky patches on my roof when I’ve come home from work, he shovels everyone’s driveway during storms, he looks out for everyone’s wellbeing, including his ailing wife, whom he takes care of. He’s just tremendously considerate of others and wants nothing in return.
