Stamford and Westport Magazines, have cast their ballots for this year’s “Best of the Gold Coast Connecticut 2020” and the result are in. The Fairfield Museum and History Center was voted Best of Fairfield 2020 in two notable categories – “Things to do - Museum” and “BEST Museum for Children”. In addition, The Burr Mansion, a historic event rental space managed by the Fairfield Museum, was voted “Best Wedding Venue.”

The Best of the Gold Coast Connecticut is a celebration of the best Fairfield County has to offer across a broad spectrum of categories from restaurants and retailers to museums, spas, bands and much more. Since its inception, Best of the Gold Coast Connecticut winners have been chosen by the readers of Moffly Media’s five award-winning town publications and are announced and featured on Moffly Media’s websites and in the July/August issues of Fairfield Living and Westport, New Canaan-Darien, Stamford and Greenwich magazines, all of which hit newsstands on July 1st.

When asked about the awards, Fairfield Museum Executive Director, Michael Jehle commented, “We are honored and truly grateful to all who voted for the Fairfield Museum as well as the Burr Mansion in this year’s “Best of the Gold Coast Connecticut” selection process. The Fairfield Museum brings together people of all ages from across our regional community for a wide range of experiences, from the serious to the fun. Jehle added, “We are also thrilled that the Burr Mansion was voted “Best Wedding Venue”. The Burr, located in the heart of Fairfield’s historic district, is a beautiful backdrop for a wedding celebration in any season.”

The non-profit Fairfield Museum offers community educational programming, historical and artistic exhibitions, a research library and cultural events. It provides families in Fairfield County with the opportunity to celebrate a shared heritage and encourages them to become active participants in their community. The Museum recently reopened to the public following closure due to COVID-19.
