Fairfield Native Chris Seifert Invited To Danbury Whalers' Tryout Camp

The former Manhattanville College star will play in the Whalers' Green and White scrimmage on September 11

Fairfield native Chris Seifert has been invited to play in the Danbury Whalers' inaugural Green and White game on September 11 at the Danbury Ice Arena.

The contest, which starts at 7 p.m, features all 34 players who will participate in the Whalers' official training camp in October.

The second-leading scorer in Manhattanville College history, the 29-year-old Seifert has played professionally since 2003 in a variety of leagues, including the the ECHL and the United Hockey League.

Last season, he skated in six games for the Hudson Valley Bears of the Eastern Professional Hockey League, registering five goals and seven assists. The 6-0, 180-defenseman also wracked up 34 minutes in penalties.

The Danbury Whalers will debut this fall in the Federal League, a Class A minor league with six teams located in Connecticut, New York and Canada.
