Fairfield Police Arrest Man Wanted in String of Shoplifting Incidents

The man allegedly stole five cartons of cigarettes and an employee's iPhone 6 last week and $159 worth of toothpaste earlier this month.

Fairfield police have charged a 50-year-old man in connection to a string of local shoplifting incidents after he allegedly stole five cartons of Newport cigarettes and an employee’s iPhone 6 from a Cumberland Farms last Friday, according to the Fairfield Citizen.

The Citizen reports Vincent Givens, 50, with no known address, fled Cumberland Farms on a bike but was spotted by officers in Bridgeport and taken into custody.

Givens was also served with a warrant for three incidents earlier this month at the CVS on Grasmere Avenue where he allegedly stole $159 worth of toothpaste, attempted to steal $180 worth of electronics, and hair-care products, according to the Citizen.
