FAIRFIELD, CT — Fairfield police were called to assist a vessel in distress, the department posted just before 6 p.m. Saturday on Facebook. The department's marine unit was contacted to help Bridgeport police and other agencies in responding to the vessel, which was in the middle ground area. Everyone on board the vessel was rescued, according to the post, which called the response an "excellent coordinated effort."
