Fairfield Police Chief To Retire For New Job: Report

The chief is expected to officially retire this fall.

FAIRFIELD, CT — Fairfield Police Chief Gary MacNamara will be retiring this fall to become the executive director of public safety and governmental affairs at Sacred Heart University, according to the Fairfield Citizen.

The Citizen reports details of MacNamara’s exit are still being worked out but he is expected to retire by the middle or end of October. To sign up for Fairfield breaking news alerts and more, click here.

MacNamara has worked for the Fairfield Police Department for more than 30 years, including the last eight as chief.
