Fairfield Police Department: Suspect Arrested Attempting To Cash Fraudulent Checks

FAIRFIELD — On 3/15/2021, Harold Harding (28) was arrested and charged with two counts of Forgery 2nd Degree after police responded to a local Black Rock Turnpike bank where Harding was attempting to cash a counterfeit check in the amount of $850.00. During the police investigation, police discovered Harding was in possession of a second counterfeit check made out to him in the amount of $820.00. The checks were determined to be fraudulent after bank employees and police observed printing discrepancies on the checks. Police also contacted the checking account holder who did not authorize nor issue the checks.
