Fairfield Police Officer Gets Award For Saving Woman's Life
The officer responded to a home for a report of a woman who had collapsed on the floor, and took lifesaving action, according to police.

FAIRFIELD, CT — A Fairfield police officer has been awarded for saving a woman's life. Officer Justin Young responded Feb. 19 to a home on Burr Street for a report of a woman who had collapsed on the kitchen floor and was unconscious, police said in a Facebook post.
On arrival, Young discovered that the woman’s face was turning blue. He determined that she was not breathing and did not have a pulse, and started CPR. Fire department and AMR Ambulance personnel later assisted him with lifesaving efforts. By the time the woman was taken to the hospital, paramedics reported she had a strong pulse.
"Officer Young was the initial first responder on scene and took swift critical action that was crucial to saving the life of a member of our community," police said in the Facebook post.
