Fairfield Prep Coach Won’t Be Back Next Season
The coach announced Friday that his contract isn't being renewed.

FAIRFIELD, CT — Leo Redgate won’t be back for a ninth season as coach of the Fairfield Prep basketball team. Redgate announced on Twitter that he was told by the school on Friday that his contract won’t be renewed as head coach.
“I was told today by Fairfield Prep that I am not having my contract renewed as head coach,” Redgate wrote in the post. “I am sad, but also incredibly proud of what we accomplished over my 8 years as coach on and off the court. Thx to all my players...past and present for letting me be a part of your lives.”
The Jesuits struggled to a 5-16 record this past season, including a first-round loss to Hillhouse in the first round of the Division I tournament.
