Fairfield Prep Football Runs Out of Time Against Shelton
Late comeback attempt falls short in 38-35 loss.

The Fairfield Prep football team staged a furious fourth-quarter comeback attempt, but ultimately ran out of time in a 38-35 loss to Shelton Friday night at Tetreau-Davis Field at Fairfield Warde.
The Jesuits, who fell to 3-2 with the loss, scored twice (both on touchdown runs by Colton Smith) late in the fourth quarter but the Gaels ran out the clock to improve to 5-0.
“We executed an onside kick that was brilliant (in the fourth quarter), came down and got a quick score, and gave ourselves a shot,” Fairfield Prep coach Tom Shea told Mike Pucci of the New Haven Register/GameTimeCT. “But (it was) the mistakes early in the game (that cost them).”
