Fairfield Prep's Head Football Coach Resigns After Amassing Winning Record
After leading the program to a winning record over five seasons Tom Shea resigned.

In 2010 the Fairfield Prep football program was in disarray, but then stepped-in Tom Shea who not only steadied the program but made it prosper.
Now that Shea, who brought the program to a Class LL final game in 2013 and capped off another winning season in 2014 announced Wednesday night he would resign his position, but remain as an assistant coach, reports GameTimeCT.com Editor Sean Patrick Bowley.
The new head football coach for Prep is last year’s defense coordinator, Keith Hellstern.

Shea has been connected to Prep’s program since 1969 and led the school to a 32-23 record over five years.

He was named the New Haven Register’s 2013 All-Area Coach of the Year. Hellstern is a social studies teach at Fairfield Prep.
