Fairfield Restaurant Honored With 2026 Wine Spectator Award: See Who

A beloved Fairfield restaurant has been recognized for its wine offerings with a 2026 Wine Spectator Award.

FAIRFIELD, CT — A beloved Fairfield restaurant has been recognized for its wine program, joining over 4,000 dining destinations from all 50 states in the U.S. and more than 85 countries internationally as winners in Wine Spectator’s 2026 Restaurant Awards.

"The restaurant industry is rapidly transforming as diners become more selective about when, how and what they drink. As wine drinkers grow more mindful, restaurants are adapting with creative wine programs," said Wine Spectator Chairman and CEO Marvin R. Shanken, in a news release. "Congratulations to the 4,012 restaurants that earned a Restaurant Award and continue to elevate the wine experience for guests around the world. We raise a glass to your success."

The Fairfield award recipient is Barcelona Wine Bar, at 4180 Black Rock Turnpike. The restaurant earned the Award of Excellence.

Launched in 1981, the Restaurant Awards recognize the highest standards in restaurant wine service across three levels: the Award of Excellence (2,083 recipients this year), the Best of Award of Excellence (1,830 recipients), and the Grand Award (99 recipients).

Wine lists that garner the Award of Excellence should offer at least 75 selections, feature a well-chosen assortment of quality producers, and have a thematic match to the menu in both price and style.

"Whether compact or extensive, focused or diverse, these lists deliver sufficient choice to satisfy discerning wine lovers," Wine Spectator says.

Wine Spectator presented the Grand Award this year to two additional restaurants, recognizing their world-class wine programs and service: Caruso’s in Montecito, Calif., and Berria Wine Bar in Madrid, Spain.

Also featured in this year's Restaurant Awards issue is "In The Fast Lane," an inside look at Chef Andrew Carmellini's wine-centric restaurant empire that combines New York hospitality with deep Italian roots.

Wine Spectator’s special Restaurant Awards issue is available on newsstands on July 21.
