Fairfield Restaurant Moving To Black Rock

FAIRFIELD, CT — A Fairfield pub is moving up the road to a new location in Black Rock.

The Castle On Post will take over the space previously occupied by the now-shuttered Forza Ristorante at 3171 Fairfield Ave. in Bridgeport.

The owner of The Castle On Post was out of town last week and could not be reached, but an employee of the Irish pub said the restaurant and bar hoped to open June 17 at its new location, which is under construction in preparation for the incoming occupant.

As for the pub’s existing site at 222 Post Road in Fairfield, Community and Economic Development Director Mark Barnhart said he was not sure who would take over the space, but that he expected it would be filled quickly.

“We haven’t had too much difficulty finding tenants for that location,” he said.
