Fairfield's Craig Kinsley Does Not Advance in Olympics
His final throw in the javelin event was not enough to take Kinsley to Saturday's final round.

The final throw of the javelin by fell 2.21 meters shy of the cutoff Wednesday to advance to the final round in the Olympics track and field events, according to a report in the Fairfield Citizen.
Kinsley, a 2007 graduate of , came in 23rd place with a 78.18 meter final throw. His personal best throw of 82.31 meters, which he reached in June, would have put him in 8th place and advanced him to Saturday's final round, the Citizen reports.
While Kinsley, 23, may not have advanced to the final round, he did eclipse his ranking going into the event (29th) and outranked his fellow Americans competing in track and field events, Cyrus Hostetler (32nd place) and Sean Furey (37th place).
