Fairfield Schedules Public Information Session On Roadway Safety Initiatives
The session, set for this month, will include discussion of the town's speed camera program, among other safety efforts.
FAIRFIELD, CT — Fairfield will hold a public information session on July 14 to discuss recent roadway safety initiatives, including automated traffic enforcement safety devices in school zones and Quick-Build road infrastructure projects.
The meeting is scheduled for 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. in the Fairfield Warde High School auditorium, 755 Melville Ave. No registration is required.
The recent roadway changes have prompted questions from residents, particularly over the speed camera program in school zones. Included in the discussion on the 14th will be information on the first month of data collected following the changes, as well as an opportunity for residents to ask questions.

Fairfield adopted its Vision Zero initiative in 2024. The program aims to eliminate traffic fatalities and serious injuries by 2034 through strategies designed to improve safety for people who walk, bike, drive or use public transportation.
"Our residents have thoughtful feedback to offer and questions to ask about these roadway changes, and we want to offer a public opportunity to do so," First Selectperson Christine Vitale said. "This session offers the goals behind these initiatives as well as sharing the crash and injury data that showed the Town we could and should be doing more to make our streets safer. Public input is an important part of the conversation we want to have with our neighbors."
