Fairfield Shop & Stroll Returns This Week
"It is a festive and fun night where we can come together once again to support our local businesses," the first selectwoman said.

FAIRFIELD, CT — Prepare your holiday gift lists. Fairfield’s ninth annual Shop & Stroll is set for Thursday.
Participating businesses in downtown Fairfield will offer extended hours and an assortment of complimentary seasonal refreshments. Traveling carolers will fill the air with holiday cheer.
The town of Fairfield and Chamber of Commerce are again partnering with Fairfield Moms on the event. The evening will kick off with happy hour 5 p.m. at Old Post Tavern, 1418 Post Road. There will be special discounts on food and drinks and free “Buy Local Fairfield” tote bags, while supplies last.

Fairfield Moms will also be sponsoring a festive after-party beginning 8 p.m. at The Sinclair, 1229 Post Road, which will include extended happy hour deals and music.
“I truly look forward to this event every year and I’m excited to see this year’s new additions to the program," First Selectwoman Brenda Kupchick said in a town news release. "It is a festive and fun night where we can come together once again to support our local businesses.”

This year’s event will feature a 90-minute ice-sculpting demonstration beginning 6 p.m. at Sherman Green by world-renowned ice carver Bill Covitz of Ice Matters. Additional ice sculptures will be on display at several downtown locations.
Shop & Stroll will also include caroling by singers from Fairfield Ludlowe High School and Fairfield Prep High School.
Shoppers looking for a quick pick-me-up can swing by Sherman Green for free hot cocoa and s’mores courtesy of BE Chocolat and relax on lounge chairs by the fire furnished by Outdoor Design & Living.
Across from the Sherman Green, Saugatuck Sweets and Café Piccolo will be open during the event, serving waffles, coffee, cappuccino and espresso. In addition, shoppers can enjoy a seasonal beverage at J.B. Percival Co., 62 Unquowa Road. The business will be serving up the Caribou, a warm, mulled red wine with origins in Quebec.
