FAIRFIELD, CT — Under a blistering sun and temperatures that felt like more than 100 degrees, the Fairfield Little League Girls Softball Juniors All-Stars wrapped up their sixth victory against no losses to once again reign as champions of all of New England, according to a news release from the team. The Connecticut state champions blew out the competition by a combined 44-2 in games against Massachusetts, Rhode Island and a team of regional Connecticut all-stars.

The pitching combo of Anna Gedacht and Delaney Sullivan yielded only one earned run in the three games of the regional tournament, thus far. Even when the opponents did put the ball in play, Grace Geary and Elena Ohe shut down any possibility of the other team using a small-ball approach, while Vinchenza Andretta kept all base runners stationary with her throws.

On offense, Chelsea Villar led all batters with a .692 batting average, Allie Ortiz added the pop with an opposite park grand slam, and Della Jackson drove the defense crazy with her speed.
