Fairfield Students Donate To Children’s Hospital
Members of the Fairfield Ludlowe Sewing Club recently made a donation to the Yale-New Haven Children's Hospital.
FAIRFIELD, CT — Students from Fairfield Ludlowe’s Sewing Club recently donated pillowcases to Yale-New Haven’s Children’s Hospital. The sewing club sews pillowcases for children staying overnight at Yale Children's Hospital. We SEW Care, a club at FLHS, aims to provide children who are sleeping in hospitals or shelters away from their home with handmade pillowcases to provide comfort and extend support.
“Hospital stays can be daunting, we want to offer a token of our support that can liven up their hospital room while easing them to sleep tight,” Club President Amber Smith said.
The pillowcases are made using soft fabric in fun colors with a contrasting border to liven up a hospital room and vary from bright juvenile fun patterns such as toy dogs, unicorns, and trucks to vibrant geometric patterns to appeal to older children.
