Fairfield University Women's Basketball Team Wins 3rd Straight MAAC Title
Next up for the Stags is the NCAA Division I Women's Basketball Tournament.
FAIRFIELD, CT — Fairfield University's Women's Basketball Team won the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference Championship last week, punching their ticket to the NCAA Division I Women's Basketball Tournament.
The Stags, ranked 11th in the Fort Worth bracket, will face sixth-ranked Notre Dame on Saturday, March 21, in Columbus, Ohio. Fairfield is in the same bracket as the overall number one-ranked Huskies of the University of Connecticut.
In last week's MAAC championship game, Fairfield defeated Quinnipiac, 51-44. Jillian Huerter, a member of the Class of 2027, was named the MAAC tournament's Most Valuable Player.
