Fairfield University's Quick Center For Fhe Arts Announces New National Theatre Live Performances

The venue will host a series of National Theatre Live screenings in HD this year.

FAIRFIELD, CT — The Regina A. Quick Center for the Arts at Fairfield University will host a series of National Theatre Live screenings in HD this year, bringing filmed productions featuring prominent stage and screen actors to audiences in Fairfield.

The lineup begins May 18 with Arthur Miller’s "All My Sons," directed by Ivo Van Hove and starring Bryan Cranston and Marianne Jean-Baptiste. The production, filmed live in London’s West End, also features Paapa Essiedu, Tom Glynn-Carney and Hayley Squires.

On June 8, the center will screen John Millington Synge’s "The Playboy of the Western World," directed by Caitríona McLaughlin. The production stars Nicola Coughlan alongside Éanna Hardwicke and Siobhán McSweeney.

A contemporary staging of Shakespeare’s "Hamlet" will be shown July 19, featuring Hiran Abeysekera in the title role. The production is directed by Robert Hastie.

"The Audience," written by Peter Morgan and directed by Stephen Daldry, will be screened Aug. 9. The production stars Helen Mirren as Queen Elizabeth II and depicts the monarch’s weekly meetings with British prime ministers over six decades. Morgan later adapted the play into the Netflix series "The Crown."

The series concludes Oct. 13 with "Les Liaisons Dangereuses," Christopher Hampton’s adaptation of the Pierre Choderlos de Laclos novel. Directed by Marianne Elliott, the production stars Lesley Manville and Aidan Turner.

All screenings will take place at the Regina A. Quick Center for the Arts on the campus of Fairfield University.
