Fairfield Warde's Kat Young Commits To Playing Soccer At Quinnipiac

Young was a four-year varsity player for the Mustangs, earning All-State honors in 2010

Fairfield Warde's Kat Young has committed to Quinnipiac University, where she will continue her soccer career in the fall.

A four-year varsity player, Young served as the Mustangs' captain in 2010 and was a part of Warde's state championship team in 2007, Tom Cunningham's first season as the squad's coach.  

Young was accepted into Quinnipiac's 6 ½-year BS/DPT physical therapy program.

The Mustangs qualified for the FCIAC playoffs and state tournament in all four of Young's seasons.  She was named first-team All-State in 2010 and earned all-FCIAC second-team honors in 2009.

Off the field, Young is an honor student and member of the National Honor Society while also serving as co-president of the Key Club.

She has played club soccer with the Connecticut Football Club since 2004 and currently is a member of CFC United's  U-17 team.

Young also volunteers as an assistant soccer coach at The Field House at the Sportsplex in Fairfield.
