Fairfield Woman Accused of Breaking Mom's Back
The woman was held on $100,000 bond after being arrested on a warrant.

A Fairfield woman was arrested Wednesday on a warrant charging her with assaulting her elderly mother and inflicting injuries which allegedly broke her back, the Fairfield Citizen reported.
Amanda J. Yelen, 47, was charged with violation of a protective order and third-degree assault on a victim aged 60 or over.
She was held in lieu of $100,000 bond and arraigned Thursday in Bridgeport Superior Court, where her bond was lowered to $75,000. She is still being held in custody and is due back in court Aug. 26, according to judicial records.

Police said Yelen and her 80-year-old mother got into an argument July 31 which turned into a physical confrontation, resulting in the older woman being admitted to St. Vincent’s Medical Center in Bridgeport.
