Fairfield's Hour-By-Hour Snow, Sleet, and Freezing Rain Forecast

The National Weather Service has issued a Winter Weather Advisory for Fairfield beginning at midnight.

A winter weather advisory has been issued beginning at midnight running until 6 p.m. Saturday for a mix of snow, sleet and freezing rain.

Snow is still expected at this time to accumulate 3-5 inches with a trace amount of ice mixed in. The heaviest snow mixed with sleet, and freezing rain, is forecast for Saturday morning through Saturday afternoon.

Despite the weather advisory for snow and sleet, the hourly forecast for Fairfield paints a picture where there will be more of a mix than anything else.

Snow showers are expected to break out at 2 a.m. and it is expected to be snowing by 3 a.m. but it will quickly turn over to a wintry mix from 4 a.m. until 6 a.m.

By 7 a.m. the precipitation will be freezing rain, and plain rain mixes in from 8-9 a.m. as the temperature rises to the freezing mark.

By 10 a.m. the temperatures will be above freezing and rain is predicted from 11 a.m. until noon.

The precipitation is expected to return back to snow by 1 p.m. but temperatures will still be above freezing. Snow is expected to continue to fall until 4 p.m. when it tapers off to light snow.

Snow showers are expected to end by 6 p.m.
