Famous Playwright's Former Fairfield Estate Sells For Millions

The Georgian Revival home overlooks the Country Club of Fairfield and Southport Harbor.

FAIRFIELD, CT — The gorgeous Southport estate where playwright Noel Coward and Broadway producer John C. Wilson once lived was recently sold for $9,050,000, according to Zillow.com.

Located at 828 Sasco Hill Road, the Georgian Revival had been listed last year for $10,250,000.

Overlooking the Country Club of Fairfield and Southport Harbor, the home was designed by renowned architect Francis Hamilton and was built in 1926.

The home, called "Pebbles," has six bedrooms, nine bathrooms, and measures 5,920 square feet. It rests on 2.94 acres, and has a pool that was featured in the 1968 Burt Lancaster film, "The Swimmer."

Celebrities, such as Vivien Leigh, Laurence Olivier and Diana Vreeland reportedly visited the home during the summer months.
