Father, Son Arrested After Fistfight in Fairfield Parking Lot

A night of drinking together turned into a night of punching each other for a father and son, who were both charged for the incident.

FAIRFIELD, CT — A night of drinking together led to a round of horseplay and eventually a fistfight between a father and son early Saturday morning in Fairfield, according to multiple reports.

The Fairfield Citizen reports Juan M. Figueroa, 54, of Waterbury, and his son Juan, 33, of Bridgeport, were both arrested after another person who came to pick them up flagged down a police officer at about 3:30 a.m. in a Post Road shopping center.

The officer saw the pair fighting inside of the car and separated them by pulling the son out of the car, according to the Citizen.

The Fairfield Daily Voice reports that the father and son told police they had been out drinking at a nearby restaurant and began horsing around while waiting for a ride and the fight escalated after the father began kicking the son and broke a chain around his neck.

The father was taken to the hospital after complaining of having difficulty breathing, according to the Daily Voice.
