FAIRFIELD, CT — Hundreds of workers at General Electric's Fairfield campus have begun packing up for the company's move to Boston, and it has brought in commercial real estate firm CBRE to market the property.
Crain's reports that more than 500 of the 800 employees at the Fairfield campus will be moved to Norwalk by the fall, and a couple of hundred more will move to Boston this summer. The site will be completely vacant by the end of the year.
The Fairfield campus is 66.8 acres with a pair of Class A corporate office buildings, which combined total more than half-a-million square feet, and a 28-room hotel. The property has been appraised at $84.4 million, according to Fairfield officials.
