Firefighters Extinguish Dumpster Fire In Fairfield: Officials

Crews responded to a dumpster fire Tuesday morning in Fairfield, according to officials.

FAIRFIELD, CT — Firefighters extinguished a dumpster fire at the transfer station on Richard White Way on Tuesday morning, according to officials.

“AC Patrick Barry arrived on scene prior to the fire department units arrival and directed employees to move the dumpster away from under the building,” officials wrote in a post on the Fairfield Fire Department’s Facebook page. “Engine One, under the command of Lieutenant Mark Goletz, deployed a handline to extinguish the fire. Only smoke damage to the transfer station occurred.”
