Firefighters Extricate Fairfield Crash Victim

Firefighters had to rescue a man after his vehicle rolled over in Fairfield Friday morning.

FAIRFIELD, CT- Firefighters rescued a victim from a vehicle rollover on Barlow Road Friday morning.

Firefighters responded shortly before 7 a.m. to Barlow Road near Barlow Place, according to the Fairfield Fire Department's Facebook page.

A Toyota Tacoma 4x4 pickup truck was resting on the driver's side on top of a stone wall.

The driver was extricated using power tools. The 57-year-old man was taken to the hospital.

Barlow Road was closed for about an hour.

“Fairfield Police, Fire, and AMR paramedics worked together to safely and efficiently extricate the driver and provide the medical care needed," said Assistant Chief George Gomola. "This was a perfect example of what we can accomplish given the right people, the right training, and the right tools. This was a job well done by all.”
