Flink Sends Fairfield American into New England Regional Semifinals
Flink hits walk-off home run, Fairfield beats Rhode Island to earn No. 1 seed in semifinals.

Jamie Flink hit a walk-off two-run home run in the bottom of the sixth inning to lift the Fairfield American Little League team to a 5-3 victory over Rhode Island and into the New England Regional semifinals as the top seed.
Fairfield American improved to 15-2 overall this summer with Tuesday afternoon’s win at Breen Field in Bristol and also finished 3-1 in the regional pool play.
Fairfield will place again on Thursday at 3 p.m. in the semifinals.

“I just try to do the right thing in each moment and luckily sometimes I do get it done, sometimes I don’t,” Flink, who has three game-winning home runs this summer, told Mary Albl of the New Haven Register/GameTimeCT. “And usually all the time it’s my teammates that get me into that spot, we do it together and that’s just how we win each game.”
