FAIRFIELD, CT — Fairfield Police are advising residents in the beach area of flooding and a road closure that is expected for later tonight (Monday).

“Tonight’s High Tide in the Beach area will occur just after 1:00 a.m.,” police said in a Code Red message around 7:30 p.m. “We are expecting a 2 to 3 foot storm surge. This will produce flooding in the several areas of Fairfield Beach Road where it traditionally floods. We expect Fairfield Beach Road to be closed to traffic between midnight and 3:00 a.m.

“Please take this opportunity to move your cars to higher ground. All parking restrictions are lifted at Veterans Park for the overnight hours.”
