Friends Of Fairfield Public Library Schedule Literary Luncheon This Month
Author Laura Zigman will discuss her new novel with author Ann Leary at the fundraiser for the public library.

FAIRFIELD, CT — Fairfield residents can meet author Laura Zigman at the 15th Annual Literary Luncheon hosted by the Friends of the Fairfield Public Library on May 27. The fundraising event is scheduled for noon to 3 p.m. at The Patterson Club, 1118 Cross Highway in Fairfield.
Zigman is this year’s featured guest and will appear in conversation with fellow author Ann Leary.
The luncheon centers on Zigman’s latest book, The Author Weekend, which was published May 5. According to the library, books will be available for purchase and signing. Tickets cost $100 per person and include lunch, dessert and a glass of wine. Reservations are required.

Zigman is the author of Small World (a New York Times Group Text pick and Editor’s Choice); Separation Anxiety; Animal Husbandry; Dating Big Bird; Her; and Piece of Work. Animal Husbandry was made into the film Someone Like You, starring Hugh Jackman and Ashley Judd. Zigman has collaborated on several works of non-fiction, including Eddie Izzard’s New York Times bestseller, Believe Me, and has contributed to the New York Times and other publications. She lives in Cambridge, Massachusetts.
The new novel is described as "a thrilling and hilarious dive into the dark heart of envy, and a glorious exploration of a woman of a certain age desperate to survive the dog-eat-dog world of publishing and control her own narrative." The announcement also describes it as "The Devil Wears Prada meets White Lotus," and says it is "a story of colliding egos and shocking betrayal."

The annual event serves as a fundraiser for Fairfield Public Library, and all proceeds benefit the institution. The Friends of the Fairfield Public Library is a non-profit organization dedicated to enhancing the partnership between the Fairfield Public Library and the community, and advocating for quality library service for all people in Fairfield.
Since its establishment in 2003, the organization has provided hundreds of thousands of dollars to the library to support special programs, services and resources not included in the operating budget.
