Gas Line Ruptures At Fairfield University
Emergency crews responded to repair the gas leak.

FAIRFIELD, CT — A gas leak that occurred during construction on the Fairfield University campus has been stopped, according to officials. A gas line was ruptured during construction at the townhouses just before 3 p.m., according to Fairfield University’s Department of Public Safety.
In an update at about 4 p.m., officials said the gas leak has been stopped and all roads are open and the “scene is safe.” All necessary personnel are remaining on scene to continue repairs, according to officials.
