Gerald F. Hyde Jr., 71; Retired Lone Star Executive; Father, Brother of Fairfield Residents
Calling hours are scheduled for Thursday, July 10 with the funeral to be held on Friday, July 11.

Gerald F. Hyde Jr., age 71, of Trumbull and Fort Myers, FL, the loving husband of Linda (Sedotti) Hyde for more than 35 years, passed away peacefully on July 4, 2014 in Hospice at Bridgeport Hospital.
Born on Feb. 23, 1943 to the late Gerald and Dorothy Dalling Hyde, Jerry was a graduate of Andrew Warde High School and the University of Bridgeport and retired in 2000 from Lone Star Industries as their V.P. of Personnel and Labor Relations.

In addition to his wife, Jerry is survived by his three sons, Jason Hyde and his wife Bridget of Fairfield, Kyle Hyde and his wife Amanda of Seattle, WA and Matt Hyde of New York, NY; his step-daughter, Cheryl Zakryk of Plantation, FL and his two cherished grandsons, Adam and Evan Hyde. He is also survived by his brothers, Robert Hyde and his wife Jane of Anacortes, WA and Lee Hyde and his wife, Vicki of Fairfield; his uncle, Ken Dalling and his wife Betsy of Fairfield; four nephews, a niece and many cousins.
Jerry will be remembered for his strength, determination and passion and was a proud husband, father and grandfather.

Friends are invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial on Friday, July 11, at 11 a.m. directly at St. Pius X Church in Fairfield. Interment to follow in Lawncroft Cemetery. Friends may greet his family on Thursday, July 10, from 5 to 8 p.m. at the Shaughnessey Banks Funeral Home, 50 Reef Rd. in Fairfield Center.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in his memory to Vitas Hospice Care, 99 Hawley Lane, Stratford, CT 06614 or the Wounded Warrior Project, P.O. Box 758517, Topeka, KS 66675.
The family would like to thank the staff of Richardson 7 and West Towers 7 at Bridgeport Hospital for all their loving care and thank their wonderful neighbors and friends for all of their support.
