Geronimo's Fight Started By Off-Duty New Haven Cop: PD

FAIRFIELD, CT — An off-duty New Haven Police officer was issued a misdemeanor summons after he started a fight at Geronimo's Tequila Bar in Fairfield Sunday night, according to police.

The officer remains on active duty in New Haven, according to the New Haven Independent.

The victim was punched several times in the eye by the officer after the two exchanged words, police said. The New Haven officer said that the other man came over to his group and started talking offensively before pushing him. The two then exchanged punches.

Video surveillance showed that the off-duty officer was the aggressor, according to Fairfield Police.
