Gina Senese English, 49 of Fairfield

Gina Marie Senese English, age 49 of Fairfield, beloved wife of Darren John English for 23 years, died on Sunday, April 17, 2016 at Memorial Sloan-Kettering Hospital after a courageous two year battle with cancer.

Born in Norwalk, the daughter of Alfredo J. Senese Jr., and Jean (DeFlorio) Senese of Darien, Gina graduated from Darien High School- Class of 1984, earned her Bachelor’s degree in fashion design at the American University of London and Master’s degree in education from the University of Bridgeport. She loved children and worked as a special education teacher for the Darien school system, until her illness required her to stop. Gina had a passion for travel, art and cooking but above all, she was a dedicated mother and wife.

In addition to her husband and parents, Gina is also survived by her children; Tyler Matthew English and Hayley Elizabeth English of Fairfield, and a brother Michael Senese of Darien, Mother-in-law Mary Correnty English, brothers and sisters-in-law David and Maria English, Dona Moseley and David Sierman, Louis and Dale DeRosa, Dean English, and many nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 AM on Friday, April 22 at the St. Thomas More Church, 374 Middlesex Rd, Darien. Burial will be held privately. Her family will receive friends on Thursday from 4 to 8 PM at the Magner Funeral Home, 12 Mott Avenue, Norwalk.
