Good Samaritans Rescue Dog Near I-95 In Fairfield

The dog had a collar and leash but no tags or microchip. Fairfield Animal Control is trying to find her owner.

FAIRFIELD, CT — A young dog was recently rescued by good Samaritans near Interstate 95 in Fairfield. The female pit bull mix was found Wednesday in the area of Rodgers Road and Sunset Avenue, Fairfield Animal Control said Friday in a Facebook post.

“Several people were nice enough to stop and hold her so she wouldn't run into traffic,” the post said.

The dog, who is white with brown markings, had a collar and leash but no tags or microchip. She is “very friendly,” according to animal control. The agency estimated her age to be just under a year.
