Graphic Novel For Teens Could Be Restricted At Fairfield Library
Library Trustees are considering what to do about "Let's Talk About It: The Teen's Guide to Sex, Relationships, and Being a Human."

FAIRFIELD, CT — A graphic novel geared toward teenagers could come under restricted access at Fairfield Public Library, reported the Connecticut Post.
The library's Board of Trustees is considering what to do about "Let's Talk About It: The Teen's Guide to Sex, Relationships, and Being a Human," which, as of Monday, had only been checked out once since March 2021, but has come under scrutiny by parents.
Written by Erika Moen and Matthew Nolan, the book covers various topics, such as "Is this sexting?" "What does nonbinary mean?" and "some of the ways the human body is wired for pleasure," according to the publisher's description.

"But every panel of this book, every anatomical drawing, every conversation over tea or in a tent, is loaded with crucial information about consent, respect, consideration, and boundaries," the description reads.
While some of the speakers Monday called for the book to be banned from the library, many want to see access to it restricted, which might include alerting parents if their child takes it out.
