Halloween On The Green Returns To Fairfield Museum

The event features trick-or-treating, giveaways, performances, parades, food trucks, bounce houses, games, crafts, activities and more.

FAIRFIELD, CT — The date is set for Fairfield’s most-spirited annual family event — Halloween on the Green. Families are invited to come in costume to the Museum Commons behind the Fairfield Museum & History Center on Sunday, Oct. 29 from 12 noon to 4 p.m.

This family event, presented by the Fairfield Museum and the Town of Fairfield, will feature trick-or-treating, giveaways, performances, parades, food trucks, bounce houses, games, crafts, activities and more. Exciting Halloween displays will be set up in the historic buildings on the Museum Commons (Victorian Cottage, Sun Tavern and Old Academy Schoolhouse) as the entire area will be transformed into an enchanting Halloween village.

This marks the second year of the relocated Halloween on the Green event (formerly known as “Trick or Treat on Safety Street”). (To sign up for Fairfield breaking news alerts and more, click here.)

“The response last year was overwhelming,” said Christine Jewell, Fairfield Museum’s director of education and community programs. “Thousands of people came to the event dressed up in an amazing array of fun, creative, goofy and creepy costumes.”

Dozens of community organizations will be involved in the event, with many businesses and non-profit groups helping decorate the historic buildings and setting up booths featuring games, activities and giveaways.
