A Happy Tail: Scruffy the Rescue Dog Reunited with New Family
Scruffy went missing after running off in the area of Exits 22-23 on the I-95 North rest area in Fairfield on Saturday.
Scruffy, the rescue dog that went missing Saturday after running off by the north-bound rest station on I-95 Fairfield, has been found and was safe at home with his new family on Sunday.
The family received a tip from someone who saw the story on Patch that Scruffy was missing and spotted him around 9:30 p.m. Saturday night. The family searched in the area of the Moss Wood Condo Complex and actually came across Scruffy’s tracks in the snow that led to the road.
A few hours later, while the family was still in the area hanging up signs and talking with anyone who came across in the area, they received a call from Animal Control that Scruffy was found by a young girl at Roger Ludlowe Middle school (where they had just finished searching). Animal Control was notified and his new family brought him home on Sunday.
