100 Degrees? Here's Where It'll Get Really Hot In CT Tuesday
The National Weather Service issued a Hazardous Weather Outlook due to high temperatures that could cause health issues.
FAIRFIELD, CT — Connecticut is under a Hazardous Weather Outlook and Heat Advisory until later this evening as head indexes could reach 100 degrees in parts of the state, according to the National Weather Service.
The forecast calls for a high of 90 degrees and heat index values around 95 degrees in southern Connecticut, according to the NWS. Northern Connecticut has an expected high of 93 degrees with heat index values from 95 to 100 degrees.
The NWS warns of a risk of heat exhaustion after outdoor activities. The outlook applies to Fairfield, New Haven, Middlesex and New London counties and will last until 9 p.m. Hartford County is under a separate hazardous weather outlook and heat advisory until 8 p.m. Tuesday.

"To reduce risk during outdoor work, the Occupational Safety and Health Administration recommends scheduling frequent rest breaks in shaded or air conditioned environments. Anyone overcome by heat should be moved to a cool and shaded location," the advisory stated.
An air quality alert is also in effect until 11 p.m. for most of Connecticut due to low ground Ozone levels.

The Hartford area broke a record for heat this month after Bradley International Airport had 18 days at 90 degrees or hotter this month. The previous record was 17 days in 2016.
The forecasted high for southern Connecticut Wednesday is 84 degrees, with a 50 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms, mainly after noon. Temperature highs are expected to stay in the mid to high 80s through at least Monday with nighttime temperatures dipping into the high 60s the rest of the week.
Northern Connecticut could see scattered showers and thunderstorms, mainly after 3 p.m. Tuesday. There is also a 60 percent chance of precipitation on Wednesday with possible thunderstorms after 5 p.m.
