Holiday Express Model Train Show Returns To Fairfield Museum
The Holiday Express Model Train Show opens the night of Fairfield's tree lighting with cookies, cider, and a special reduced admission.

FAIRFIELD, CT — A holiday tradition full of model trains, wintery landscapes, and family fun chugs into town Friday.
The Fairfield Museum’s Holiday Express Model Train Show opens the night of Fairfield’s tree lighting from 5-8 p.m. with cookies, cider, and a special reduced admission of $3 per person or $10 for a family of four. Museum members and children ages 5 and under are free.
Young and old alike can enjoy the large- and small-scale model trains winding around winter villages and holiday scenery. Trains will operate 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Monday through Thursday and 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Friday to Sunday. The event is made possible by members of the Housatonic Model Railroad Club, the Connecticut G-Scalers Club and the Central Connecticut G-Gaugers Club.

A membership promotion will run Dec. 3 through Jan. 2. Anyone who joins as a museum member will receive an extra six months of free member benefits, which means all visits to this year’s and next year’s Holiday Express Train Show will be free. Members also receive discounts year-round on things like summer camp, unlimited free admission to the research library, guest passes for friends, invitations to members-only events and 10 percent off at the museum shop, where items are always tax-free.
