FAIRFIELD, CT — A Fairfield homeowner interrupted burglars earlier this week who were attempting to steal from the person's garage, according to police.

The incident occurred about 3 p.m. Monday on Philemon Street, police said. Two men in a van pulled into the driveway of the home and entered the garage, according to police, who said the pair was trying to steal power tools when the owner exited the residence and stopped them.

The case is under investigation, police said.
