FAIRFIELD, CT — A horse was briefly loose earlier this week on Penfield Beach, according to Fairfield police. About 8 a.m. Tuesday, police received a report that a horse that was accompanied by three woman had escaped and was running free at the beach, 323 Fairfield Beach Road. The responding officer arrived to find three women on three horses and was told the women were able to regain control of the horse on their own. Horses are allowed on the beach from Oct. 1 to March 31, as long as they are accompanied by a person, according to Fairfield Parks and Recreation.
