Hot Temperatures Prompt Change In Fairfield Public Schools Schedule

High temperatures are forecast in the region through the weekend.

FAIRFIELD, CT — With high temperatures forecast throughout Connecticut through the weekend, Fairfield Public Schools announced classes will end early on Friday, June 12. See the announcement below:

Dear FPS Families,
Due to the predicted heat index tomorrow, FRIDAY, June 12, 2026, all Fairfield Public Schools will operate on an early release schedule.

Early Release Times:
High Schools: 11:50 am
Middle Schools: 12:40 pm
Elementary Schools: 1:40 pm
ECC: Morning classes will operate as scheduled. There will be no afternoon classes.

The safety and well-being of our students and staff remain our top priority. We appreciate your flexibility and understanding as we respond to these weather conditions.

As a reminder, Monday, June 15, and Tuesday, June 16, are already scheduled half days for students and will continue to follow the previously published dismissal schedule.
