Hundreds Of UI Customers Lose Power In Fairfield

FAIRFIELD, CT — Hundreds of people were without power around 9:30 p.m. Wednesday in Fairfield, as heavy rain poured down on the area. UI's outage map showed about 400 customers had lost power.

About two hours later, nearly 300 customers were still without power, the map showed.

A Wind Advisory is in effect for all of Southern Connecticut until 6 p.m. Thursday as gusts up to 50 mph are expected. A Coastal Flood Warning was in effect for the immediate coast of both Fairfield and New Haven counties from midnight until 4 a.m. Thursday.
