I-95 Blocked By 1-Ton Pipe After Truck Rollover In Fairfield

FAIRFIELD, CT — A truck crash early Monday morning sent 1-ton metal pipe onto the roadway, snarling traffic for commuters. The incident occurred just before 5 a.m., when a semitrailer rolled over on northbound Interstate 95 between Exits 19 and 20, according to the Fairfield Fire Department. The driver was not hurt, but northbound traffic was reduced to one lane for several hours, as firefighters helped state police remove bundled 1-ton metal pipe from the road, the department said in a Facebook post.
