FAIRFIELD, CT — A Pennsylvania woman is charged after she went to former comedian Lisa Lampanelli's Fairfield home and impersonated the celebrity to Lampanelli's own family, according to police.

On Friday, Lampanelli's sister received a call from a woman pretending to be Lampanelli and asking where the house key was kept, according to a Fairfield police report. Lampanelli, who was out of the state, spoke to officers on the phone and provided them with surveillance that showed a woman approach the front door and look under the mat and other items near the entrance, the report said.

Officers found the house locked, with no signs of forced entry, according to the report. But later that night, a gray 2003 Volkswagen Passat was parked in Lampanelli's driveway, the report said. The vehicle was registered to Anna M. Dominguez, 56, of Lancaster, Pennsylvania, according to the report. Police searched Lampanelli's property and did not find anyone, but Dominguez was seated in the vehicle when a tow truck came to remove it, the report said.

Dominguez admitted she was at the home earlier and told police she has dementia and it is "hard for her to let go of her famous life," the report said. She was arrested and charged with attempting to commit burglary, according to court records. Her next court date is Nov. 7.

It was announced in spring 2019 that Lampanelli was selling her Fairfield home. The house, located at 1053 Fairfield Beach Road, has been featured on HGTV. It was built in 2002 and boasts nearly 3,900 square feet of livable space, with four bedrooms and three and a half baths. The asking price was $2.45 million, but dropped to $2.35 million in July, according to Realtor.com. Lampanelli purchased the home for $2.21 million in 2012.

Lampanelli is perhaps best known for her appearances on the Comedy Central roasts, the "Howard Stern Show," the "Tonight Show with Jay Leno" and as a contestant on the fifth season of NBC's "Celebrity Apprentice."

She retired from standup comedy in late 2018. The former insult comic is now "dedicating her life to running transformational food and body-image workshops, performing in issue-oriented storytelling shows, and completing a rigorous life-coaching certification program," according to her website.
