Intoxicated Driver Flees Police, Nearly Hits Cop: Fairfield PD
Police found the man's vehicle about 30 minutes after he sped through a work zone to escape an officer, law enforcement said.

FAIRFIELD, CT — A driver faces multiple charges after fleeing police, nearly striking an officer in the process, according to law enforcement.
Jason A. Meek, 43, drove into the middle of a work zone Monday night on the Post Road, police said. When told to turn off his vehicle, Meek fled, just missing the officer and speeding through the work zone, according to police.
Officers found Meek’s vehicle about 30 minutes later at Post and North Benson roads, according to police, who said Meek refused field sobriety tests but appeared intoxicated.

Meek was arrested and charged with driving under the influence, reckless driving, failure to obey an officer and speeding in a construction zone, police said.
