Investmark Advisory Group Celebrates 35th Anniversary!

Fairfield County wealth management firm looks to the future.

Fairfield County, November 2019—This year Investmark Advisory Group is celebrating its 35th anniversary of serving families, executives and small businesses in Fairfield County and across the country. The independent, hybrid advisory firm boasts an unusually consistent team in a very competitive marketplace – They are an inspiring example of the importance of the ‘ensemble approach.’

All of Investmark’s advisors and support staff enthusiastically support their mission of providing each of their clients with an extraordinary level of personal attention combined with state-of-the-art technology, advice and service. We spoke with some of the team to find out the secret to the firm’s longevity and success:

Jay M. Diamond, Chief Investment Strategist and the team’s most experienced advisor, has been in the financial services sector for 40 years – over 30 of which have been at Investmark. “I’ve believed for a long time that we have something here that is really unique.... we have always tried to maintain a culture that promotes genuine concern for every one of our clients and every member of our team. Everyone here feels deeply invested (pun intended!) in our clients’ success and making sure their experience with us is top notch.” “We’ve known many of our clients for 20 or 30 years and we treat every client like we expect them to stay with us that long – and that means really trying to understand what’s important to them, what’s going on in their lives, and how that effects their financial planning.”

CEO Michael C. Kusick took the lead role in managing the business in 2014 and has been a leader at the firm for over 25 years. He stresses the clients’ benefits of Investmark’s team approach and independence.

“As an advisor, I take great comfort in knowing how well our team handles our clients’ requests and questions… for many of the day-to-day needs, they know the ins and outs better than I do!” “Also, our clients also really seem to understand the importance of our independent status and that we have no quotas or proprietary products. We certainly have providers that we respect and value and like to use, but if they ever start to fall short, or if we feel other options are more appropriate or effective for our clients, we are able to adapt for our clients’ benefit without any restrictions.”

Nick Christie, CFP®, Director of Advisory Services, added “ I think we owe our growth and longevity to several factors, but I think Jay mentioned the most important one, which is that we really do treat our clients like we would want our own families to be treated. We listen, we are responsive, and we stay in frequent communication so that we can be sure the portfolios and strategies continue to fit our clients well as their lives and needs change. It is incredibly rewarding to help clients over the years and see their toddlers grow, and to see our plans help the family send them to college, or to work with someone through the transition to retirement and get their post cards from the trip they were able to take, or to see a surviving spouse through a difficult loss. Our goal is to provide advice that will help provide financial security and preserve the lifestyle our clients have worked so hard to achieve. While so much of our work relies on calculation, research, compliance and statistics, there are tremendously rewarding emotional and personal results, and it is those connections that drive us and that I think are responsible for our clients’ trust and loyalty.”

It’s probably not entirely coincidental that as Investmark celebrates 35 years in business, that they also were selected for Investment News’ Best Places to Work list, which we’ve reported on here. Over the last five years, Investmark has also developed ReInsuranceMax, a specialized investment program tailored the unique needs of automotive dealerships and their owners. Additionally, Investmark’s Retirement Plan Services department has been providing 401(k) and other retirement plan reviews, advice and implementation for small businesses for 30 years as well. They work closely with business owners and plan sponsors to provide fiduciary services, investment guidance and compliance assistance.
