The single biggest issue in town is ______, and I plan to do this about it:
We are facing some serious longterm risks/liabilities like flooding, mold and pension/OPEB costs. We must budget diligently for these risks annually, and develop a Climate Change and Coastal Resiliency Fund and ensure all development in town is sensitive to our unique risks as a coastal community. We need to plan now to protect our future.
Critical differences between me and my opponents:
I am dedicated to working hard to analyze issues from all angles and arrive at the best, most economical and efficient solutions for our community. I actively seek out other views to challenge myself, recognizing that the best solutions come from consensus. At the town level, this consensus develops through our democratic process and the checks and balances built into our town structures. I am a stubborn optimist, and with an enduring faith in democracy and the democratic process.
Accomplishments:
I have been one of a few representatives to successfully pass legislation, such as the noise ordinance, senior and disabled tax relief, and reusable bags and the affordable housing trust. I have also never missed a meeting in the six years that I have served. My proven record is a reflection of my genuine dedication to this town.
Other issues:
Expanding senior and disabled tax relief, environmental protection, investment in our schools and athletic facilities, and revising and drafting legislation that is responsive to people's problems and concerns
What else would you like voters to know about you?
If elected, I will serve the interests of all of Fairfield. I love this town, and I want to retire here. For me, and that means being a fiscally responsible steward who keeps budgets affordable but makes the necessary investments for our future.
